Hwarang Youth Foundation Orange County District
The San Diego Chapter is located in San Diego, California, and is a part of the OC district. We cover the city of San Diego but are mostly based in Del Mar, Solana Beach, and 4S Ranch. The San Diego chapter was founded in 2021, with six founding members, and we have grown to have nineteen members. Our main activities include recycling, park and beach clean-ups, walking buddies for our friends who have learning and cognitive disabilities, and fundraising for the homeless. Our chapter consists of many musicians who perform for the Vision Concerts and other Hwarang events. We pride ourselves on a close knit community, leadership skills, and our hard work at Hwarang events. One of our unique events is our ‘Walking Buddies’ event, where we walk and exercise with individuals in our community who have cognitive disabilities. We take this opportunity to educate ourselves on the autism and ADHD spectrum, and we also have fun outdoors with our new friends. We hope to learn leadership skills and other important life lessons through the Hwarang Foundation and, guided by the five loves of Hwarang, develop our characters as well as qualities that will last for the rest of our lives.
샌디에고 화랑 챕터는 OC district 소속으로 샌디에고, 캘리포니아에 근거지를 두고 있으며, 델마, 솔라나비치,4S 랜치 지역을 중심으로 활동하고 있습니다. 2021년에 6명의 멤버로 창립되어, 현재는 19명의 멤버를 중심으로, Recycling, 공원&바닷가 청소, 운동 도움이 필요한 친구들과 함께 걷는 Walking Buddies, 홈리스 지원하는 food distribution, fund raising등의 활동을 진행하고 있습니다. 샌디에고 챕터는 음악적 재능을 지닌 다수의 화랑들이 함께 하고 있어, 비젼콘서트 앙상블 공연 및 화랑 행사에 음악적 봉사를 이어가고 있습니다. 각종 화랑 행사에서 남다른 단단한 결속력과 열정으로 리더쉽을 발휘하는 모습들에 늘 자랑스러움을 느낍니다. 샌디에고 화랑만의 특별한 활동인 Walking Buddies는 운동을 함께 해 줄 도움이 필요한 친구들에게는, 화랑 친구들과의 야외 운동 시간을 가지며, 몸과 마음의 건강을 다질 수 있는 시간을 만들어 가고 있습니다. 화랑들도 ADHD spectrum, Autism 에 대해 제대로 이해하고, 작은 부분이지만 우리가 속한 지역사회에 봉사하는 기회를 갖을 수 있는 walking buddies 활동에 큰 의미를 부여하고, 늘 진심으로 활동을 이어가고 있습니다.
화랑 청소년 단체를 통해, 가족을 사랑하고, 나라를 사랑하고, 평화를 사랑하고, 조국을 사랑하며, 정의를 사랑하는 화랑의 정신을 마음에 새기고, 인생의 값진 교훈들을 배워나가며,
진정한 리더의 의미를 깨닫고, 우리 모두의 인생에서 영원히 빛날 수 있는 멋진 지도자로 성장해 나가고자 하는,아직 작고 어리지만 큰 꿈을 꾸고 있는, 저희들의 성장을 지켜봐 주시기 바랍니다.
