Hello hello hello all! My name is Amber Hong and I am this year’s Hwarang Art Committee chairperson. I am currently a senior. Making art has always been a passion of mine, so having the opportunity to lead this art committee is an honor. In our committee, our goal is to be able to come up with and present creative ideas in order to make a finished product that not only benefits the Hwarang Youth Foundation but also challenges us as artistic individuals. So far, we have been redesigning the Hwarang logo as well as helped in developing a clothing line made by the business committee. It’s been a long yet gradual process and I am confident that our wonderful members (and hopefully future members) will introduce even more ideas and translate it into the visual form. We are currently planning to hold an art contest that welcomes anyone to submit their artwork and possibly even receive a prize to promote our committee, the foundation, and motivate young artists. What we care about most is cultivating great ideas into a visual design, so no matter what skill level you’re at or the amount of talent you may have up your sleeve, we hope that anyone interested in the arts will join and contribute to our committee!
