Welcome to the PV Chapter!
Palos Verdes is located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County. We are among one of the oldest chapters and have been a part of the Hwarang Youth Foundation since it was founded in 2007.
Currently, our 17 dedicated members participate in numerous volunteer activities, including park clean-ups, recycling, and sending thank you cards to firefighters. We also hold fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for Ukraine relief efforts and eye surgeries in Guatemala.
We are passionate about serving our community. Our chapter’s goal this year is growth, which can come in many different forms. We hope to facilitate personal growth and develop leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. We hope to grow the teamwork abilities of our group and collaborate in a synergetic environment. Lastly, we hope to grow the love and kindness in our communities, creating a compassionate and welcoming space for all.
As our PV chapter grows, we strive to empower Korean-Americans to help our communities and improve as leaders through these valuable experiences.
모든 챕터들 중 가장 오랜 역사를 자랑하는 Palos Verdes 지부는 LA 도심에서 남쪽으로 30마일 정도 떨어진 곳에 위치하고 있으며,
화랑 청소년 재단이 창단된 2007년 이래로 재미 교포의 정체성을 확립하고 지역사회의 더 나은 모습을 위해 봉사하고 있습니다.
저희 지부는 역사 만큼이나 다양한 활동을 자랑합니다. 대표적인 활동은 멘토링 활동입니다. 저희는 매주 Soleado 초등학교에서 영어가 주된 언어가 아닌 학생들을 가르칩니다. 약 1년 간 멤버들은 자신만을 위해 지식을 습득하는 것이 아니라 그것을 다른 사람들과 나누고, 영어가 익숙하지 않은 초등학생들이 지역사회에 잘 적응 할 수 있도록 도와주고 있습니다. 또한, 지역사회의 환경보존 활동에 참여해 자연의 소중함을 배우고, 이를 보호하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.
저희는 다양한 활동을 통하여 지역사회에 화랑을 알리고, 나아가 회원들이 리더십을 더욱 발전시키고 있습니다. 앞으로도 PV지부는 화랑 재단과 함께 활동하며 다른 사람을 위해 봉사하는 자세를 기르고, 저희가 가진 열정과 재능을 지역사회에 아낌없이 나누는 리더로서 성장할 것입니다.
